Lauren Placencia, MD

Lauren is a specialist headhunter leading the Clinical Validation practice within SciPro's HealthTech division. A physician by training, she earned her MD with the goal of making a meaningful impact on patient care. That mission still drives her today, now channeled into helping HealthTech companies find the strategic talent they need to bring transformative products and solutions to patients. Her focus is clinical validation hiring, spanning permanent, contract, and fractional engagements. Because she has trained as a physician, Lauren speaks the language of the clinicians she recruits and understands the real-world challenges facing patients and providers. That perspective shapes everything from how she evaluates candidates to how she advises clients on what great clinical talent actually looks like. Lauren is also the founder of SciPro's HealthTech Happy Hour community and the host and creator of its podcast, where she talks with founders and leaders shaping the future of healthcare. When she's not working, you'll find her walking through Prospect Park with her dog Billie, working through her reading list, or trying a new restaurant somewhere in Brooklyn.
